Gold Note Mediterraneo – Turntable with B-7 Ceramic Tonearm

Italian design meets precision engineering for deeply involving vinyl playback. The Gold Note Mediterraneo is a belt-driven turntable built around a sculpted triple-layer plinth, a high-precision POM platter and Gold Note’s proprietary motor control system. Supplied with the B-7 Ceramic tonearm, it delivers exceptional speed stability, low noise and a wide, layered soundstage—ideal for listeners who want both beauty and serious analogue performance.

  • 45mm high-density POM platter for low resonance and stable rotation
  • High-torque 12V synchronous motor with advanced electronic speed control and fine pitch adjustment
  • Split-Spindle™ clamping design and tungsten ball bearing for precise, fluid platter movement
  • B-7 Ceramic tonearm included (B-5.1 optional, depending on configuration)

Product Overview

The Mediterraneo is inspired by Italian craftsmanship and engineered to maximise mechanical stability and vibration control—two essentials for extracting micro-detail and natural timing from vinyl. The plinth uses a 60mm thick curved hardwood structure based on the catenary curve, reinforced by a polished acrylic top layer and a stainless-steel plate to improve damping and overall rigidity.

The drive system is built around a high-torque 12V synchronous motor, powered by a proprietary control system that rebuilds the AC wave to drive the motor smoothly, reduce vibration and improve torque delivery. Speed switching between 33⅓ and 45 rpm is electronic, with fine pitch control and memory storage for settings.

Listening Experience

The Mediterraneo delivers a stable, spacious and richly textured listening experience. You’ll hear strong image focus and a deep, layered soundstage, supported by a quiet background that helps ambience and micro-dynamics emerge naturally. Bass is firm and articulate, midrange textures (voices, strings, piano) sound tangible and present, and treble stays refined with clean extension—ideal for long listening sessions.

Its speed stability and low noise floor also translate into confident rhythm and timing, keeping complex mixes organised and musical flow intact.

Recommended Room Size

As a turntable, the Mediterraneo is suitable for any room size. The key factors are placement and support: use a rigid hi-fi rack or wall shelf, ensure the surface is level, and keep the turntable away from heavy footfall or direct speaker vibration for the best tracking and bass clarity.

Use Cases

  • Reference vinyl front end: a serious analogue source for high-resolution stereo systems
  • Musical, long-session listening: refined treble and stable imaging for fatigue-free enjoyment
  • Upgrade platform: excellent foundation for moving coil cartridges and premium phono stages
  • Design-led living rooms: distinctive Italian styling without compromising engineering

Cartridge & Phono Stage Matching

The Mediterraneo is an excellent partner for both MM and MC cartridges, depending on your phono stage. For maximum performance, an MC cartridge paired with a low-noise phono stage can unlock greater depth and micro-detail. Careful setup (alignment, VTA and tracking force) is rewarded with stronger imaging and cleaner inner-groove performance.

Upgrades

  • PST-10 external inductive power supply (optional): designed to further refine power delivery for the turntable motor system
