Collection: Soundbars

Soundbars provide a space-efficient way to improve TV and movie sound without installing a conventional multi-speaker system. From self-powered solutions with immersive audio processing to passive soundbars designed for use with AV electronics, they can offer clearer dialogue, greater dynamics and a more engaging home cinema experience.

Our selection focuses on high-quality soundbar solutions that can form either a simple TV audio system or the foundation of a more complete home cinema setup.

How to choose a soundbar

A soundbar can significantly improve television sound while keeping the system compact and easy to integrate. The right solution depends on room size, TV connectivity, the level of immersion you want and whether you prefer a self-powered or passive system.

Active or passive soundbar

Most soundbars integrate their own amplification and processing. These active models connect directly to the television and provide a straightforward alternative to a conventional AV receiver and separate speakers.

A passive soundbar works differently. It contains the speaker channels but requires external amplification, typically from an AV receiver. This approach can be particularly useful when you want discreet front speakers while retaining the flexibility of conventional home cinema electronics.

Room size

Room size and listening distance influence how much output and scale are required. More substantial soundbars generally provide greater dynamic capability and can be better suited to larger listening spaces.

Use our Recommended room size classification as a practical starting point rather than an absolute requirement.

TV connectivity

For an active soundbar, HDMI ARC or eARC can simplify the connection to a compatible television and allow audio and control signals to pass through a single HDMI cable.

Always check the connections available on both the television and soundbar, particularly if you intend to reproduce advanced surround or immersive audio formats.

Expanding the system

Some soundbar platforms can be expanded with a subwoofer and dedicated surround speakers. This allows you to begin with a simple soundbar and develop the system into a more immersive home cinema configuration later.

Before choosing a system, consider whether you want a permanently simple TV setup or the possibility of adding additional speakers in the future.

Finding the right solution

Start with your room size, television and desired level of system complexity. An active soundbar is generally the simplest solution, while a passive soundbar can make more sense when it will be integrated into a conventional AV system.

Understanding our recommendations

Use our recommended room size as a practical starting point when comparing soundbars. Listening distance, room acoustics, desired listening level and the use of a separate subwoofer can also influence the best choice.

Recommended room size

Small room — up to approximately 15 m²
Medium room — approximately 15–30 m²
Large room — approximately 30 m² and above

These are ExclusivIT starting recommendations, not absolute requirements. Room acoustics, listening distance, speaker placement and the desired listening level can influence the optimum choice.
