How to choose installation speakers

Installation type

In-wall speakers provide a discreet solution for stereo and home cinema systems while keeping the listening area free of conventional speaker cabinets. In-ceiling speakers are particularly useful for distributed audio, discreet music systems and height channels in immersive home cinema installations.

On-wall speakers offer many of the space-saving advantages of architectural speakers without requiring a wall cavity, while cabinet models are designed for installations where the speaker must integrate into furniture or other dedicated spaces.

Some installation speakers can also be mounted in either walls or ceilings, providing additional flexibility when planning the system.

Music or home cinema

Installation speakers are not limited to background audio. Many models are designed for high-quality music reproduction, while dedicated LCR, center and surround models are optimised specifically for home cinema.

Position and system layout

Installation requirements

Always check mounting depth, cut-out dimensions and the available cavity before selecting an in-wall or in-ceiling speaker. Construction materials, insulation, studs, electrical wiring and other services can all affect the available installation space.

For cabinet and on-wall models, check the required clearance, mounting method and cable routing before installation.
