A different approach to loudspeaker design

BEC Akustik takes a fundamentally different approach to loudspeaker design. Developed in Germany from decades of expertise in magnetic systems, its IC Series combines proprietary flat-driver technology with a remarkably slim aluminium enclosure.

Rather than placing a conventional loudspeaker cabinet in the room, BEC creates speakers that can become part of the architecture itself — discreet on a wall, integrated into a custom installation, or used as the foundation of an elegant stereo or home cinema system.

At ExclusivIT, we see BEC Akustik as a particularly compelling solution when sound quality, controlled dispersion and visual integration matter equally.

Slim by design. Not by compromise.

The unusual proportions of a BEC loudspeaker are made possible by its flat broadband drivers. Instead of requiring the depth of a conventional cone loudspeaker, the drivers are arranged vertically within an enclosure only 23 mm deep on the IC Series.

This line-array configuration creates a very wide 160° horizontal dispersion combined with a much more controlled 40° vertical dispersion.

In practice, this allows sound to spread broadly across the listening area while limiting unnecessary energy towards the floor and ceiling.

Designed to belong in the room

At just a few centimetres deep, BEC Akustik loudspeakers can be installed where a conventional loudspeaker enclosure would be visually intrusive.

The IC Series can be mounted directly on the wall, integrated in-wall or combined with BEC's dedicated mounting solutions. Black, white, silver and gold finishes are available, with special colours available on request.

The result is a loudspeaker system that can complement the architecture rather than compete with it.

Meet the IC Series

One concept. Different scales.

The IC Series applies the same acoustic concept across several sizes, allowing the loudspeaker to be selected according to the room, listening distance, required output and application.

Ultra-slim speakers. Properly integrated bass.

The IC Series is deliberately designed around its strengths: an exceptionally slim format, controlled dispersion and high-quality reproduction through the midrange and high frequencies.

With a specified frequency range beginning around 120 Hz, these loudspeakers are best considered as part of a system that includes dedicated low-frequency reproduction.

A properly integrated subwoofer doesn't simply add more bass. It allows the BEC loudspeakers to concentrate on the range they are designed to reproduce while the low frequencies are handled by a component specifically engineered for that purpose.

BEC's own Flat Boy Slim follows the same philosophy: adding low-frequency capability while maintaining a discreet, installation-friendly form factor.

 BEC Akustik meets Lyngdorf

BEC Akustik becomes particularly interesting when it is treated as a complete system rather than simply as a pair of loudspeakers.

We particularly like combining the IC Series with Lyngdorf electronics and subwoofers. Precise bass management allows the transition between the BEC loudspeakers and subwoofer to be properly controlled, while RoomPerfect™ addresses the behaviour of the complete system in the actual listening room.

The result is an approach particularly well suited to modern interiors: minimal visual impact, properly integrated bass and a system optimised for the room in which it actually plays.

Planning a BEC Akustik system?

Choosing the right BEC model is only part of the equation. Room dimensions, listening distance, speaker placement, amplification, subwoofer selection and bass management all influence the final result.
