Klipsch Heresy IV – Heritage Series Three-Way Loudspeakers
Authentic Klipsch Heritage Performance, Hand-Built in the USA
- Three-way horn-loaded design for exceptional dynamics and efficiency
- High sensitivity (99 dB, manufacturer spec) for easy pairing with low- or high-power amplifiers
- New rear Tractrix® port improves low-frequency extension versus previous Heresy generations
- Hand-built in Hope, Arkansas with real wood veneers
- Designed for listeners who want immediacy, clarity, and live-like presence
The Klipsch Heresy IV is the latest evolution of one of the most historic loudspeakers in audio. Introduced in 1957 as part of the Klipsch Heritage series, the Heresy lineup has always offered a highly efficient, dynamic speaker in a compact floorstanding format. The fourth generation brings significant updates, including a new midrange driver, improved crossover network and, for the first time, a rear-ported enclosure to enhance bass extension.
With its horn-loaded midrange and tweeter, the Heresy IV maintains Klipsch’s signature ability to reproduce transients, dynamics and vocal presence with minimal distortion. The result is a presentation that feels energetic and highly engaging, particularly with live recordings, rock, jazz and acoustic music.
🎶 Driver Configuration & Acoustic Design
- High-frequency: K-107-TI titanium diaphragm tweeter, horn-loaded
- Midrange: K-702 compression driver with Tractrix® horn
- Bass: 12" fiber-composite woofer
- Enclosure: Rear-ported (Tractrix®) for improved bass response
The three-way configuration ensures clear separation across the frequency range, with horn-loaded sections providing the efficiency and directivity Klipsch is known for. While the Heresy IV does not aim for ruler-flat studio neutrality, it excels at immediacy, dynamics and lifelike scale.
🏠 Room Size & Amplifier Pairing
- Recommended room size: 15–40+ m²
- Amplifier power: Works with a wide range of amplifiers thanks to high sensitivity
- Compatibility: tube amplifiers, solid-state Class A/AB, modern AV receivers
Due to its efficiency, the Heresy IV can perform well with lower-powered tube amplifiers, though real-world sensitivity may vary depending on measurements and listening conditions.

🎼 Realistic Expectations & Listening Notes
The Heresy IV offers:

- strong vocal clarity and presence
- fast transients and low compression at high levels
Bass extension is significantly improved over the Heresy III thanks to the new ported design, though—as with most speakers—actual performance varies with room placement and acoustics. The Heresy IV may be complemented by a subwoofer if deep low-frequency output is a priority.
The Klipsch Heresy IV remains one of the most distinctive loudspeakers available today: efficient, dynamic, compact and hand-crafted with a heritage that spans more than six decades.
