The T/9x SE has been developed for enthusiasts who already appreciate the performance of the standard T/9x but seek an even greater level of refinement. Rather than increasing amplifier power, REL focused on improving the moving components of the loudspeaker itself, resulting in measurable gains in speed, detail retrieval and dynamic expression.
The improvements are immediately apparent. Bass lines become more articulate, acoustic instruments gain texture and timing becomes even more precise, allowing the subwoofer to disappear even more completely into the musical performance.
CarbonBlack™ Driver Technology
The centrepiece of the T/9x SE is REL's newly developed CarbonBlack™ active driver. Its carbon-fibre reinforced centre cap significantly increases structural rigidity while reducing moving mass, enabling the cone to accelerate and stop more precisely.
Combined with a revised suspension system, the driver delivers improved transient response, lower distortion and greater dynamic contrast compared with the standard T/9x.
Passive Radiator for Natural Bass Extension
As with every flagship model in the T/x Series, the active driver is paired with a matching 10-inch downward-firing passive radiator. This configuration allows the enclosure to produce deeper bass without the compromises associated with conventional bass-reflex ports.
The result is bass that remains fast, controlled and exceptionally coherent, whether reproducing the lowest organ notes, double bass, electronic music or cinematic effects.
300W Class A/B Amplification
Power is provided by REL's proven 300W Class A/B MOSFET amplifier. Chosen for its natural musicality and effortless current delivery, it provides exceptional control over the upgraded driver while maintaining excellent reliability and long-term stability.
Rather than pursuing excessive output, the amplifier has been optimised for speed, tonal accuracy and seamless integration with high-quality loudspeakers.
High-Level Connection – The REL Philosophy
REL's renowned High-Level Neutrik Speakon connection remains one of the defining advantages of the T/9x SE. By receiving the same signal as your loudspeakers directly from the amplifier outputs, the subwoofer preserves tonal character, timing and harmonic structure with remarkable consistency.
Low-Level RCA and dedicated LFE inputs allow simultaneous integration into both stereo and home cinema systems, making the T/9x SE equally comfortable in premium two-channel installations or high-end AV environments.
