Overview
The Jamo Concert Legacy 8 is a high-end 2-way bookshelf loudspeaker that brings the Concert Legacy concept into a more compact format. Made in Denmark, it combines a 165 mm SEAS aluminium/magnesium midwoofer with a custom 25 mm Scan-Speak tweeter, housed in a real oak veneer cabinet with a substantial 40 mm front baffle.
Its design deliberately revisits the spirit of the original Concert 8 while applying contemporary materials and engineering. The result is a serious passive standmount speaker intended for listeners who want full-scale HiFi performance without moving to a floorstanding enclosure.
Key Benefits
The Concert Legacy 8 is particularly interesting for rooms where a floorstander would be excessive, but where tonal scale and low-frequency reach still matter. Jamo specifies a response down to 34 Hz at -3 dB and 28 Hz at -6 dB, giving the speaker unusually substantial bass extension for a cabinet of this size.
A down-firing bass-reflex port is integrated into the aluminium plinth rather than placed on the rear panel. This reduces dependence on rear-wall clearance and can make the speaker easier to position in real living spaces, while still leaving room for careful system tuning.
With 87 dB sensitivity and a 4-ohm impedance, the Legacy 8 benefits from a capable amplifier with good current delivery. Its recommended amplifier range of 40 to 200 watts gives useful flexibility across high-quality integrated and power amplifiers.

Ideal For
The Jamo Concert Legacy 8 is best suited to high-quality stereo systems in small to medium-sized rooms, or larger spaces where the listener prefers a standmount format. It is particularly relevant for customers who value strong bass extension, Scandinavian design and traditional passive loudspeaker engineering without the visual presence of a full-size floorstander.
Its 4-ohm load means amplifier matching deserves proper attention, but in a suitably driven system the Legacy 8 offers a flexible route into the Concert Legacy range.

Why We Selected This Product
The Concert Legacy 8 stands out because Jamo has not treated the bookshelf model as a simplified version of the larger Legacy speakers. Instead, it has been engineered as a substantial standmount in its own right, with premium SEAS and Scan-Speak drive units, serious cabinet construction and unusually extended low-frequency performance for its size.
For customers who want the design language and engineering approach of the Concert Legacy range in a more manageable format, the Legacy 8 offers a well-judged balance of scale, placement flexibility and long-term system potential.
